This project was an individual academic project about series of designs centered around Turkey, comprising postcards, posters, social media assets, street banners, and merchandise. The theme of this project revolves around Turkey's participation in the 2025 World Expo in Japan.

Color choice

In the process of researching Turkey, by exploring the cultural, geographical, and natural aspects of the country, the set of eight colors on the right was extracted to serve as the color palette for this design series. In the design process, the color gradients were also utilized to demonstrate the three-dimensional effect of various aspects of Turkey. Using the same blueish gradient background is to keep the consistency of the this design series.

Typography

In this design series, the choice of the Azote font was deliberate due to its distinctive boldness and architectural characteristics. On the left side is an example showing what the typeface looks like. This font effectively conveys the unique features of some Turkish landmarks and architecture, capturing their structural essence.

Design

Postcards & Posters & Banner

The design of these four postcards utilizes a color palette reflective of Turkey, capturing the essence of the country's culture encompassing its cuisine, attire, wildlife, architecture, and adornments.

The colors employ gradients with substantial contrasts among the elements, resulting in a lively and dynamic portrayal of the mystique of Turkey, presenting visual layers that enhance the overall aesthetic.

The banner below is crafted with a depiction of a Turkish kettle pouring tea in various colors, aiming to evoke a sense of motion and mystery related to Turkey. The diverse colors symbolize the rich variety of tea flavors in Turkey. The background, adorned with circular pattern decorations (mimic the traditional turkey pattern), contributes to enhancing the overall banner with an added touch of visual interest.

Drawing inspiration from the upcoming 2025 Expo in Japan, where the unique shape of Turkey and its neighboring countries resembles the elegant silhouette of a Japanese pine tree, I have crafted this poster. Gradient colors were applied to create 3D effects with the content: Japanese pine tree, turkey traditional dessert and tea. The ornaments and balloons were also used to keep the overall design consistency. The scenery designed to create the welcoming atmosphere of Turkey, where always welcomed people from other countries with delicious food.

Adhering to the concept of utilizing the silhouette of Turkey, I designed an additional horizontal poster, placing greater emphasis on promoting Turkish food truck during exhibition. The right-aligned text layout was chosen to maintain a balanced overall image.

Merchandise

The creation of merchandise for this project involved the utilization of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The colors and patterns incorporated into the merchandise were created based on all related graphic elements present in this project.
